Prophet Musa (Moses) & Harun (Aaron)

Musa (Moses) is the prophet most often mentioned in the Quran. He was born when Pharaoh was killing the Israelite boys; his mother cast him in a chest into the river; he was raised in the palace, then fled to Madyan after killing an Egyptian. At the fire at Mount Tur, Allah spoke to him and gave him the signs (staff and white hand) and sent him with his brother Harun to Pharaoh. Pharaoh and his magicians were confronted; the believers were few; plagues were sent; finally Musa led the Children of Israel out by night, the sea parted, and Pharaoh and his army drowned. Allah gave Musa the Tawrat on the mountain; in his absence the people worshipped a calf; after repentance they wandered forty years. Harun died before Musa; Musa died and was buried. Harun was Musa's spokesman and helper throughout the call.
Pharaoh had ordered that every male child of the Children of Israel be killed. When Musa was born, his mother was inspired to put him in a chest and cast it into the river. Pharaoh’s household found him and he was raised in the palace. His mother was able to nurse him as a wet-nurse. Thus Allah returned him to his mother. When he reached manhood he accidentally killed an Egyptian and fled to Madyan. There he helped two women water their flock and was hired by their father (Shuaib). He married one of them and stayed for several years.
