Adults usually start where they last left off, which is rarely where they should. The order that works is: what makes prayer valid, then how to read the Quran, then belief, then character, then the wider fiqh. Prayer first because it is five times a day and the one thing you cannot postpone. Everything else can wait a month; that cannot.
