Four skills, four techniques
LISTENING: read the questions first so you know what to catch. READING: find the question's keyword in the text and read around it. WRITING: use structures you are SURE of rather than reaching for ambitious ones you might break. SPEAKING: prepare phrases you can steer any question towards.
A paragraph you can always write
Learn one flexible frame: اِسْمي… وَأَنا… أَدْرُسُ… أُحِبُّ… لِأَنَّ… (My name is… I am… I study… I like… because…). Five sentences, one because. Adapt it to almost any prompt. Accuracy in a simple structure scores better than errors in a complicated one — in every language exam there has ever been.
Real conversation
Learn the repair phrases first: مِنْ فَضْلِكَ، مَرَّة ثانِية (please, once more), لا أَفْهَم (I do not understand), كَيْفَ تَقولُ… (how do you say…). These keep a conversation alive when you get stuck, which is the actual skill — fluent people are not people who never get stuck, they are people who recover.
Topic: my school. (1) اِسْمُ مَدْرَسَتي … (2) هِيَ كَبيرة وَقَديمة. (3) أَدْرُسُ العَرَبيّة وَالرِّياضيّات. (4) مادَّتي المُفَضَّلة هِيَ … لِأَنَّها مُمْتِعة. (5) أَذْهَبُ إِلَى المَدْرَسةِ بِالحافِلة. (6) أُحِبُّ مَدْرَسَتي. Six sentences: name it, describe it, say what you do, give a reason with لِأَنَّ, add a detail, and close.
