Prophet Dhul-Kifl

Dhul-Kifl is mentioned in the Quran alongside Isma'il, Idris and Elyas as one who was patient and among the best. His name means "possessor of a double portion" (or one who gives a double requital). The majority of scholars hold that he was a prophet; some said he was a righteous man who administered justice among his people and satisfied their needs. He is honoured as steadfast and among the best of Allah's servants. His exact identity and the people to whom he was sent are not specified in the Quran; some commentators link him to figures in the Israelite tradition.
