Prophet Aramaya (Jeremiah)
7th–6th century BCE (Kingdom of Judah; Babylonian conquest and exile).
Aramaya (Jeremiah) is a prophet identified in Islamic tradition with the biblical Jeremiah. He warned his people to repent and return to Allah and to the covenant; he witnessed the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple and the exile of the Children of Israel. The Quran does not name him directly; his role is part of the broader narrative of the prophets sent to the Children of Israel before and during the Babylonian period. He is remembered as a warner and a steadfast servant of Allah.
