Mehmed II Conquers Constantinople

The 21-year-old Sultan Mehmed II (Al-Fatih — The Conqueror) fulfils the hadith of the Prophet ﷺ: 'Verily you shall conquer Constantinople. What a wonderful leader will he be, and what a wonderful army will that army be.' (Ahmad 14802). The 1,000-year-old Eastern Roman Empire ends. The Hagia Sophia becomes a mosque. Constantinople becomes Istanbul.
