Intention, then: wash the hands, rinse the mouth, draw water into the nose and expel it, wash the face, wash the arms to the elbows, wipe the head (and the ears), wash the feet to the ankles. The obligatory parts are face, arms, wiping the head and the feet — the rest is Sunnah and adds to it. Order and doing it without long gaps matter to most schools.
