Income must be lawful in substance and in method: no interest, no gambling, no deceit in a sale, no withholding a worker's wage. The Prophet ﷺ said to give the worker his wage before his sweat dries. Most adult questions here are about employment in a mixed context — working somewhere that also sells alcohol, or in a bank — and scholars genuinely differ, which is why this is a question for a person and not a page.
