The verb engine: past, present, command

Arabic verbs are the root system in motion. From ق-و-ل (saying): QALA — he said (past, the story-telling tense of the Quran); YAQULU — he says or will say (present-future); QUL — say! (command). One skeleton, three stamped forms. The Quran opens dozens of surahs with the command form: qul huwa Allahu ahad — SAY: He is Allah, One. Recognising the command shape alone unlocks the openings of Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, An-Nas and Al-Kafirun.
