Homes are all different
Animals live in all sorts of places. A fish lives in water. A bird might live in a nest in a tree. A rabbit lives in a burrow under the ground. A bee lives in a hive with thousands of other bees. A spider makes a web. Each home suits the animal that made it.
What every animal needs
Wherever an animal lives, it needs the same few things: FOOD to eat, WATER to drink, somewhere SAFE to hide, and space to move. If a place has all of those, an animal can live there. If it is missing one, the animal has to go somewhere else to find it.
The right home
A fish cannot live in a tree, and a bird cannot live underwater. Each animal fits the place it lives in. A fish has fins for swimming and gills for breathing in water. A bird has wings and light bones. Look at an animal carefully and it often tells you where it lives.
A penguin has thick fat and dense feathers for cold water, and it eats fish. Put it in a hot desert: no water to swim in, no fish to eat, and its insulation would cook it. Now put a camel in Antarctica: its wide feet are for sand, it stores fat for long dry journeys, and it has no fat layer for the cold. Neither animal is doing anything wrong — the PLACE cannot supply what it needs.
