Reading a short surah with meaning

Word by word
قُلْ (qul) say · هُوَ (huwa) He · اللهُ (Allāhu) Allah · أَحَدٌ (aḥad) One. That is the whole first ayah, four words, and you can read every letter. Take the remaining three ayat the same way with the word-by-word view — a whole surah understood in one sitting.
What it says
Say: He is Allah, One. Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born. And there is none comparable to Him. Four short ayat that answer the question "what is your Lord like?" — and the Prophet ﷺ taught that this surah equals a third of the Quran in reward.
Reading with understanding changes it
Recite Al-Ikhlas in your next salah knowing every word. It will not feel like the same surah, because it is no longer sound — it is meaning that you are saying on purpose. That shift is the whole reason this Arabic track exists.
قُلْ — say. هُوَ — He. اللهُ — Allah. أَحَدٌ — One. Four words, and most people who can recite the surah have never translated them. Do the same for the second ayah: اللهُ الصَّمَدُ — Allah, the Eternal Refuge, the One all depend on and who depends on none. Now recite it again knowing what each word means; it is a different experience from the same sounds.
