Prophet Hud

After the Flood; people of 'Ad (traditionally after Nuh, before Thamud).

Hud was sent as a prophet to the people of 'Ad, a powerful tribe who lived in the windswept hills (al-Ahqaf) between Yemen and Oman. They built lofty towers and were given great strength and wealth but grew arrogant and worshipped idols instead of Allah. Hud called them to worship Allah alone and to repent, but they mocked him and demanded proof. Allah sent a furious wind that blew for seven nights and eight days and destroyed them; only Hud and those who believed were saved and migrated to Hadramaut.
