Play-along, not a fake percentage
Pick a surah and ayah, listen to a named reciter, and pace yourself. Optional browser speech hints are listening aids. They are not makhraj grading and not a tajweed certificate. Safari and many iOS browsers stay play-along only because speech recognition is missing. Use Quran Learn first if the letters themselves are still new.
Hifz modes and cited receipts
Hide words or first letters when you are memorising, then confirm a cited receipt in Cited Progress after you actually opened the verse. Quran Learn covers letter foundations before you recite long passages. This coach does not replace a teacher who can hear your qalqalah in the room. It is practice software on a Quran learning companion, not a live qari.
Find an ayah by voice
Recite any part of a verse and Ai Quran searches all 6,236 ayat on your device to find it — including a fragment of a long ayah, and including recitation from memory, because it matches the words rather than the sound. Separately, it can identify a published recitation playing nearby and name the surah and ayah, across all 114 surahs. That second one recognises known recordings only; it cannot follow a person reciting in their own voice, and says so rather than guessing. Matching runs on your device on both paths. Identifying sends an anonymous fingerprint rather than audio; reciting is transcribed by your browser, which usually means the audio reaches its maker — unless you switch on the on-device model.

Does Recitation Coach score my tajweed with AI?
No. After you record, browser speech recognition can highlight words that did not match this ayah and link a named Learn Hub rule. That is not makhraj grading and not a certificate.
Why is there no microphone prompt on iPhone?
Safari typically has no Web Speech recognition. Use play-along with the reciter. Chrome or Edge on a desktop can add hints.
How does this help memorisation?
Hifz modes hide text while you listen. Cited Progress records the verse you opened so review is a receipt, not a checkbox you ticked without reading.
