The Battle of Uhud

A year after Badr, the Muslims meet Quraysh again by Mount Uhud. Early success turns to loss when archers leave their assigned position; the Prophet ﷺ is injured and his uncle Hamza (RA) is martyred. Surah Aal-Imran devotes a long passage to the day's lessons — including the famous consolation: "Do not weaken and do not grieve" (3:139).
